Descripción

This thesis examines the history of the Western magical tradition through the establishment and development of cabalistic magic and its revival in nineteenth-century England. It analyzes how the synthesis of esotericism begun in the Renaissance by scholars like Pico della Mirandola, Reuchlin, and Agrippa was concluded by Samuel Liddell MacGregor Mathers, co-founder of The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn.
